Support Maywood this June as we Walk on the Wild Side. Enjoy a 5K trail walk at the park. A shorter prairie loop will also be available.

There is no bad weather – only bad clothing. The walk will run rain or shine. In the case of thunderstorms, we may opt to delay the start or shorten the event for the safety of everyone.

In-Person 5K Trail Walk
Connect with nature on a 5K trail walk. Learn fun nature facts and try challenge stations along the way. A shorter prairie loop will also be available.

Virtual Challenge
June 1-30, 2024
Choose your distance, choose your activities, and choose your location as you rack up miles in support of Maywood. Participants can use any self-propelled activity to complete this month-long challenge. Walk, run, hike, bike, pedal, paddle, swim, skip – as long as it’s a self-propelled activity it counts.

Make your Participation Go Farther by Collecting Pledges
When you collect pledges for participating in Maywood’s Walk on the Wild Side your miles go farther toward helping Maywood’s programs and park projects. Download a pledge sheet or set-up online giving when you register online.

Volunteer for Walk on the Wild Side

Help make Maywood’s Walk on the Wild Side a success by volunteering. We will need help preparing participant bags, setting up the course, serving as trail assistants, serving snacks, and more. Opportunities available in August preparing for the event and throughout September. To get involved, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Nate Dallesasse.
