A four-month training program to increase cycling
endurance & distance in a supportive group setting

Registration Form Button

Interested in cycling but not sure where to begin? Join Team Maywood! Whether you ride weekly or haven't ridden in 20 years, our training program can help you increase you endurance, distance, and skills in a supportive group riding setting. The program also works well for those training for triathalons and other endureance events.

Team Maywood can help you meet your own personal fitness goals while learning how to safely ride in a group. In the program you will learn skills appropriate to your riding level. Beginning riders will focus on skills such as riding in a straight line (it's harder than you think!) and learning to drink from a water bottle while riding. More advanced cyclists will work at pacelines and drafting.

What sets Team Maywood apart from other group rides? Many groups ride at a set pace and jumping into that pace can be intimidating for cyclists just getting back into the sport. Team Maywood offers a variety of paces that allows you to ease back into cycling or jump in with a faster riding group if you are already an avid cyclist. We have fantastic volunteer trainers who help provide you guidance and tips on riding in a supportive setting. Our program will encourage you to stretch your limits while providing you with skills to do so safely.

Team Maywood also offers a unique camaraderie between our participants. You will meet other cyclists with similar goals. Many participating cyclists meet up for rides and cycling events outside the Team Maywood program.

General Program Information
The Team Maywood Training Program is a four-month program designed for cyclists who would like the support of trainers and group rides in preparing for long-distance cycling, including 100-mile century rides. The program includes weekly rides, meetings and workshops all designed to increase a rider's skill, knowledge, and physical fitness. Training is targeted to your specific riding ability and multiple riding groups are offered based on your riding speed and skills.
